There should still be a lot of uncertainty in XON/MOB and
a lot of time, also. Too difficult to arbitrage at this stage, maybe.
Maybe instead they just short Xon and forget about going long mob.
at 25x trailing earnings at $12/bb oil maybe a fair play. Hedge it with options on oil futures.

I agree with your bolded assessment. Money went into very narrow set today. Very strange with Europe down so much, too. Usually they will cut losses a little when our market stays "strong."

I expected today to be slightly down after yesterday. Doesn't mean we aren't going up before we go back down, but something looks funny.
