Doug, speaking of predictive overreaction : Forbes' November
16. issue has an article on Malthusian myths on page 235. It's
worth a trip to the library if you can't get your hands on that
issue. [it's not on the web site].
Authors are Peter Huber and Mark Mills. They address the various
predictions of imminent oil shortages made by prestigious officials,
experts and authors in the past. All wrong.
The authors maintain that lower oil prices have forced the pace
of technological innovation, and innovation in turn has expanded
the oil reserves greatly.
