Lee,

I know of some studies which show seasonal correlations like tax selling (which IMO is closer to FA than TA) but none which show correlations among successive increments or decrements in equity pricing. Would appreciate the references.

TIA!

Lee,

The best argument for looking at TA that I have heard...

If enough people are using it they will fulfill their own expectations. If a popular TA system gives a strong buy signal and all the people using that system buy...guess what? The price just went up. This would be more likely in a more thinly traded issue.

I don't use TA and I try to ignore those espousing it. If Jerry Favors comes on CNBC I switch to the History Channel. But this one argument does nag at me.
