thanks for your $0.02 X 8 1/4.

the only two objections, i have ever seen to rambus (since it is clearly the speed winner) are cost and heat. it looks to me like the cost solution was addressed in a big way today. although i'm not sure $20-$30 per box would hurt sales anyway. when was the last time any of us bought a slower computer with nearly obsolete technology?
the statement from the rambus vp that the issues regarding heat that may apply to using rdram in a laptop are resolved and that we will see rdram as the laptop memory solution in 2000 seems huge to me.
with intel driving the rdram train, and 100 of the top high tech companies switching to rdram technology, and the very first rdram ad by samsung in the new ee times today (Gosh i hope the word doesn't get out before my yard sale), i would like to pose a ?. a ? i have asked many times here.
does anyone see a downside?
