Brian,

you try so hard to look for a little good news here and there without pausing to look at the red light right underneath your nose.

What is the biggest news today? Frankly, I am surprised that the message was delivered via a 747. BA is one of the largest exporters and contributes dearly to balancing trade. Do you have any idea what our trade deficit is going to be like going forward? Do you have any idea how our current account is financed by insecurities in other parts of the world?

Further more, do you have any idea how over capacity is hitting just about every sector imaginable? Do you have any idea what single digit per barrel oil prices are going to do to the economies of Russia, Indonesia, Venezuela, Mexico, other OPEC countries?

To assume the events of the world today are routine and the US will remain the oasis of prosperity is obviously the mood of Wall Street today. The stage is set for the mother of all corrections. I have no idea what will set it off but my guess is we will be down 20% or more within 3 months.

These little bumps today are great for day trading and selling some over priced holdings to the greater fool.

Ramsey

brian, my apology. date was 12/1/98. haven't spent too much time in europe the last 20 years. the article is current. time will tell how accurate it is. if it is accurate then the intel bulls will keep the profits they've already made and maybe some more. if it isn't then us bears will be rich. we'll see.

btw, i'm bearish on intel due to no or very limited growth. i'm not bearish on everything. in fact, all my positions are 100% long right now. not much longer, but for now that is true. ;-)
