Lee, Maybe you're talking about me. I think Romer is going to win, but anything can happen. There is always a lot of hype, but things seem quite calm to me. From the business community here people believe that Romer has enough support and will make it through. Other candidates are sending their support to him because they know a Chavez victory is a negative. Does the US press still think Chavez will win? This definitely would be a negative. The man runs on a populist platform and has no idea about running a country. He would probably sack some of the PDVSA head hunchos, but then again this guy doesn't really have a clue about anything. There is no way Venezuela could have made more cutbacks recently because people here would not accept more job losses. This would have played in Chavez hands. Also, expect the currency to be devalued after the elections. This should be a given. How long after the elections, I don't know. Everyone's budgeted for it. I follow the Venezuelan stock VNT (telecom co.). It's been up the last couple of days so that makes me believe some foreigners think positive about the elections. We're having a pre-election party Saturday. Lots of Polars will be drunk. I'm going to have that rig party here on Lake Maracaibo. Lots around for us to use. I'm keeping my oil drillers/service stocks. If it takes ten years so be it. That damn rig party is going to happen. Take care boys and girls, shust
