Thanks kaz--that clarifies it. As far as rules of SOES trading, I really don't use it enough to know. Does your SOES button actually say "SOES" or does it say "Nasdaq", like mine? I had thought SOES only referred to Nasdaq market orders, which are routed to the first-up MM who has a quote at market, and that this order is automatically executed electronically.

My understanding is that a Nasdaq limit order is placed in a pool for matching with other limit orders. I don't know if MM's have access to these orders, or if this is even right--?
