Your example is nonsense.

Home Depot will never put in such a thing. Besides, just think about why anyone would invest in equipment that wasn't connected through the net. As it is now $100 gets you a video connection. And besides that mortgages on demand are just ridiculous. The single biggest asset that most people have, and you would see a big demand for a five minute credit application to draw against that. These are major decisions and not impulse transactions (unless of course you are in Las Vegas and you have a gambling addiction, in which case you are probably leveraged to the max already).

You can't even begin to make a business case for this. Deployment costs, maintenance costs, support costs, cash flows - you don't have to be a technology genius to see that this a is a bogus business idea. The old company couldn't make a go of it, what makes you think that Mr. Belize is going to be able to think his way out of a paper bag on getting this business off the ground?

I'll say it again, PRWT is no more a technology company than they are a financial institution.
