If CPQ will make a new high this month, then it would be nice for DELL should retest its previous high just as a sympathy play.

Voltaire,

They should not panic and sell.

I agree. It was not clear - at least to me - that this was the message that you were trying to convey in your earlier posts. Good that you cleared up the confusion.

Let me hasten to add that personally I would not panic and buy because of perceived elation on part of MMs and/or any technical indicator turning positive either as in the short run volatility obscures trend to a very large extent. This is why DCA using DRIPs makes sense. I wish DELL had a DRIP. In the absence of one, my experience is that limit buys (or put sales) at targeted low prices and not checking the daily market swings is the only viable alternative leaving day trading to MMs.

MMs have power only over day traders. For the small investor, the only thing day trading is good for is as a substitute for Atlantic City, IMO. Since day trading is essential for liquidity via constant re-appraisal of security prices and therefore for an efficient market, I am eternally grateful to day traders. They provide a valuable service to society at considerable monetary and emotional costs to themselves. But personally I am not selfless enough to be one.
