Your point is well taken. The issue is frequently commented upon in the message series themselves. I think its helpful when the sentiments are reported in formal publications. The reminder about civil actions adds to the prospective consequences of posting misleading or false information. As the SEC is just getting around to monitoring BB posts, and holding broker/dealers accountable, so I expect the same to occur with individual posters who systematically and misleadingly seek to sway investors.
