"too good or too bad depending on the direction the stock should take..." normally, when i see a strong bid against the ask, the stock has a 60% of going lower (or braking that bid) and vice versa. the only thing about this rule is when the stock moves very fast in all directions. the MMs don't have time to full anyone so a strong bid after bad earnings (not an internet that goes 10x in three days) should signal a bounce. of course there's exceptions to every rule and i'm sure there's more than what i listed.
