SR,

RE: PUMA

At first glance, I like them a lot. I have a Windows CE palmtop, a computer at home and a computer at work. I have the syncro-software installed on my home PC and if I want to use a CE-generated file at work, I have to transfer it to a floppy at home the night before.

It would be nice to be able to do transfers both at work and at home. Obviously, someone that travels a lot, such as a salesman, would like this even more -- especially if they move from office to office.

We were playing the prediction game at work a few weeks ago and the question was: what will be the next big consumer electronics product? My prediction was that it will be a fusion between the palmtop computer and the cellphone. If I am right, the software these guys are working on has a good future.

I see that they have posted a pretty big loss, but the bulk of it is for R&D expenses which I find acceptable at this stage. I was also impressed in general with the 10-K. It was very well written and discussed the risks in great detail with an honest tone.

The questions are:
What/who are the competitors for similar products?
Will Microsoft swoop in and take over this market or will they let the little boys play like they do with compiler add-ons?

BTW, have you looked at CREE's price lately? :) I told you that they were due for a breakout at $30.

Regards,

Tom
