... buyout by Lucent Technologies Inc.

Oh Yes, but of course. And IBM is also rumored to buy out Victoria's Secret chain of stores.

It is amazing how on earth these rumors start. If IFMX starts to go up it would be because of its own merit and not some idiotic buy out rumor (IMHO of course). I am surprized that WSJ even mentioned this. It would be as if Time starts publishing the nonesense printed in the Globe tabloid magazine.

Anyway....

Regards,

Addi Jamshidi

I guess the natural question to ask at this point is why Lucent would decline to comment. Is this just policy? Or did the reporter ask a janitor or get a busy signal and interpret that as declining to comment. In my mind, declined to comment means that someone was asked a direct question, and replied, "I cannot comment on that."

I just hope that if the rumor is false it is not confirmed to be false over the weekend.

The funny thing is, volume of 12 million shares a day is no small rumor. Little guys like me don't generate 12 million shares. If it was some Internet-spread stupid rumor we or Yahoo would have heard about it first. The saying goes, "Those who talk don't know, and those who know don't talk." Anyone else notice the suspiciously quiet nature of this rumor? ...and Lucent declines to comment, why don't they just can the stupid thing and get it over with?

Mike
