Hi Patrick; I love working in Yahoo, as I've learned a few tricks
with her charts and stuff, & down load cvs formats, that
springs into templates I have in excel.
That's just a matter of what one gets use to.

There may be some changes, before it's final..
I just set it up TWO ways , dollar weighted, and Cap weighted,
the value of $ weighted one was up 3.17% Friday, the cap weighted
one up 3.99% , I expect the dollar weighted one to be the
most volital , but expect the cap weighted one to be the leading
indicator
because of arbitrage trading of futures vs stocks
on the S&P
This remains to be seen , however I will likely
start back testing it ( lot of work ), but insights don't come easy.
-=-----------
So far I have no strong opinion on how this will work out, but
if it falls in place as I hope it does , I may abandon my other
more broad market focus and specialize in what I once said I wouldn't
play, ( the internuts ) as they do have the wildest swings.
I am convinced that if one does, diversity is the key, and I will
be able to get that via the index options, if they catch on.
--------------------
Right now the short term trend is up, and IMHO AMZN will be
the best short when it breaks.
A hedge would be long the index and short AMZN with equal dollar
amounts.
Jim

Patrick, may I ask what kind of neutral net program you are using? Is it a commercial product or a program written by yourself?

I am working on applying neural nets to chemical process analysis. I am also very interesting in using neural nets to assist market analysis.

Thanks in advance.
