The 50%-60% market share Pete is hoping for is as of today, not pre-August. Transpoint people are going around telling potential customers they expect to get the lions share of the market and in a condescending manner suggest that Checkfree will get 25% of the market, while all the time Checkfree is out front with a good lead. But the strategy probably works in that it creates indecision and delay on the part of some banks. These banks are being told by some that they better get with it quickly before they lose a lot of their franchised business to others. Other advisors tell them they can afford to wait, see where the industry shakes out, and go with the winner later. If it were me, I wouldn't waste another second getting into this game. There is nothing easier to transfer today than a bank account. Look what money market funds did to the banks that sat on their butts.

I couldn't agree more with you on what Oracle brings to the table in the form of a strong, aggressive, motivated strategic partner that has established relationships with important potential customers. I don't want to hype the potential results, especially after seeing what a weak sister IBM (Integrion) turned out to be.

The relationship can only enhance Checkfree's stature and credibility
in what seems to be turning into a David and Goliath type of competition.
