>>Looks like an interesting market ahead

I don't like "interesting" markets--only STRONG markets.

re: trading Rambus. Good Luck. I guess it was tradable back when it was in that saw-tooth range between 45 and 70. Some people were capturing those swings. But, that wasn't "day" trading per-se. Rambus does have large intraday ranges and I suppose a good trader could capitalize. But, like I say--good luck. RMBS has confounded most who attempted it.

I was thinking when RMBS crossed 72 that it was a no-brainer for a good move up from there. I thought optimistically $90-93, mostly because of other stocks that I've seen break from similar, long-term saw-tooths.

Where it goes from here I don't know, but I've got a good chunk of my buying power in it. It's being tested right now with news about a competing memory gaining support in the industry, but I'm not sure that the story has changed. It seems to me that someone who daytrades a stock simply because it is volatile and is not familiar with the story being played out is at a disadvantage. And that's not what you want when you're playing against the "dealer".

My $0.02

FWIW, I've been using ADSL in a business location near my home (my block can't get it, dammit,<g> for reasons they still haven't explained to me) and it's all its cracked up to be. I consistently see 80KB/sec during busy times, and around 120-150KB/sec during off-times. Considering the best you can get with 56K and V.90 is 5.4-6.0KB/sec, I'm seeing between 15-30 times the speed of 56K with ADSL.

I don't think you can pick your backbone though, unless things are different elsewhere. Here, with BellSouth, they become your ISP, with whatever backbone they use in that specific area. (not UUNET here, mainly ALERNET). Price is quite reasonable, $60.00 for the line, including ISP, per month. It actually drops to $50/month, if you subscribe to certain services as part of your local calling plan.

Curious to know how that relates to your area.

Len

I was active in RMBS for a while, and it was fairly predictable. But with the recent move up $30 I don't know anymore. I missed that ride as I was doing internet stocks EGGS CYSP etc.
