Pradeep,
I think you are right on the money. I also feel they could be comple-
mentary but that itself is -ve in my opinion. Reason is that IOM's profit strategy is by selling more disks and if people go with the cheaper CD solution and use less and less of zip disks then it is a problem. If IOM's future is as gaurentted as lot of people think in this thread, the stock will be trading closer to year highs in this mania and not at 25% of its all time high of 27 1/2 set in May 96.
Having said that, i am very long in this stock hoping that a company which was able to set standards like Zip would have more tricks in its sleeves and the next might very well be Clik!. But there are so many uncertainites with IOM for me not to jump up and down with excitement for every news release or with everyday events. Big money is still not sure about IOM's future but when and if IOM convinces them then this will have huge run up. In otherwords, IOM has a huge potential but has lot to prove to the street. After all, this is a cut throat commodity business and companies are willing to sell at loss till they go bankrupt. There will be lot of casualities before the winner is accepted.
