Channel Check - Best Buy, Columbia, MD. Revenge and Rugrats are selling very well. Revenge had 12 slots; all but two sold out. Checked with 3 clerks (all clueless about quantities) said both were hot, I even got a weak impression that there was more demand for Rugrats.

I'm becoming convinced we have a winner X-mas.

Regards,
Jim

Channel Checks - Wrestlemania.

If you plan to buy a wrestling game - any wrestling game - in the Atlanta area before Christmas, you'd better hurry. There aren't many left.

Best Buy - They have 4 WWF Warzone and 1 WCW vs. NWO World Tour(N64). All other wrestling games are sold out.

K-Mart - Revenge sold out. WCW vs. the World(PSX) sold out. WCW vs. NWO World Tour(N64) sold out. Didn't see a slot for Warzone. If they had it, it's gone.

Target - 4 copies of Warzone. Revenge sold out. WCW vs. World(PSX) sold out.

Walmart - 5 Warzone. 2 WCW vs. World. Revenge sold out.

Anybody see a trend here? Warzone is really the only competition out there, and it sells only after all the THQ wrestling games are gone. I'm tempted to order a couple hundred Revenge from the e-store and sell them on the street:)

Rugrats is still spotty here. Everyone has it now. Best Buy had 3, K-Mart 4, Target 12, Walmart ~20. I did notice that Walmart had 2 slots for Rugrats. This is promising as they have a small display and only a few games were allotted more than one slot. I think it will take another week to draw any conclusions on Rugrats sales.

My Christmas shopping is finished! Much of it at the local package store after I escaped from being "malled." I'll be glad when the nieces and nephews are old enough to drink.

Rugrats PSX was featured in advertising circulars on Thursday from Best Buy and K-Mart. K-Mart also showcased Bug's Life Gameboy. I expect more Rugrats PSX (and Bug's Life Gameboy) in the Sunday paper circulars.

Here's another encouraging channel check from one of the best on the MF board:

From: CLFFBF

I went back to the stores today to get a feel how fast things are moving
and I am glad I did.I did not count exactly how many Rugrats TRU had
yesterday but I would estimate about 24(3 rows of appr.8) and they are
now sold out.Spoke to one of the salesladies and she said plenty more
coming in today and placed another order today to get more in on
saturday. To me that is impressive. This is not a weekend here-this is
Thursday to Friday.By eye count
I would say plenty of Revenge sold in those 24 hours also.
At Software Etc -4 Nitro's were sold.3 just this morning(store opens at
10:00 and I was there at 12:00).Salesman also says he sold 2 RR and 4
Revenge just today.

The November TRSTS and PC Data rankings are going to be pretty interesting. Revenge should be top-five, if not number one and Rugrats might have a chance at top ten. Both should score very high in December as well. Bug's will probably be top five Gameboy, behind Pokemon, et al. It will be interesting to see how many copies of WCW PC the mass merchandisers get. Probably the key to the success of the title.
