Oh, yeah. Yeah. I recall that same thing, I grew up in the Rocky Mountains, and I would go to sleep with the wind and snow blowing against the window. I'd be wrapped up in a big blanket and I'd be feeling fine. Another thing I remember is the rainstorms in the summer. We would be outside in them and really having fun. For some reason, I just can't get behind being outside in pouring rain anymore, but I sure liked it back then.

Gauguin, I grew up in New Orleans, my family came from Biloxi. Every summer each of the kids would take turns spending a week or two at the grandmothers' houses in Biloxi. My father's mother's house was base camp, because my mother's mother lived over her place of business and it wasn't very large living quarters. This was before air conditioning was very common. I used to sleep on the screened front porch, under these extremely tall, old pine trees, and listen to the foxes and owls all night. But what was best was the thunderstorms, Biloxi has the best thunderstorms, nothing like being in a bed at night with a thunderstorm going on all around you, lightning making the sky purple. Her house was on the back bay waterfront, sometimes the sky would get so bright I could see across the bay. Just flashes. Bright enough to read by, I tried it.
