Walk down the street sometime and ask people if they recognize the name Amazon and then ask about Barnes and Noble. I believe you will find mainstreams knows the name Barnes and Noble better.

This is certainly true. And as far as the net advertising awareness goes, I have seen over a dozen barnsandnobel.com ads on the mainstream TV shows this weekend and not a single amazon commercial.

B&N has admitted in the past that they got dragged into this net BS by their heals 'cause they knew it was a loser as a business. But now that they are into this trading stamp game they and their partners will keep amazon unprofitable and let it bleed to death. All B&N really has to do is break even on net books to accomplish this. Same goes for all the other lines amazon can try out like toys, drugs, sex, etc. -g-

Finally a bull (on amzn) with reasoning. - sarcasm i am sure.

BKS was waiting until the net was maintream. I believe you will see BKS growing faster on the net now.

considering how it killed bottom line this past q and the net is now depressing bks stock? bks needs to steal the minds from amzn as amzn has done from walmart. the net is new school, and bks is old school.
currently new school rules.

BKS just started throwing money at the net. Toys r Us has just started too. The successful firms in my opinion will have e-commerce and traditional stores.

the successful firms will start boarding up the brick and mortar stores as their net earnings should make marginal stores to expensive to keep as them become submarginal stores. bks continues to open stores, toy has recently announced some closures. both toy and bks are mortar and can not cope in the new online world so far. neither have shown the model will work.

Walk down the street sometime and ask people if they recognize the name Amazon and then ask about Barnes and Noble. I believe you will find mainstreams knows the name Barnes and Noble better.

i do not know what street you live on, but those people on the net have been shown to read more than those without an online connection. amzn knows the target audience and it is the online user, not the person on the street or under a bench. amzn targets the avid reader, not the occasional or non-reader. taget audience.

i will comment. imagine amzn buying bks and liquidating it. the future.
