Cameron -- you're starting to recycle your quotes! But, seriously -- thanks for the thoughtful post on what the near term may bring....interesting scenarios to consider.

re:"Deadline Gets Extended For SyQuest Purchase"

Been thinking about SyQuest lately and have come to the conclusion
that if IOM is involved in the acquisition of assets that they will hold off
until next quarter. IMO their statement that they will be in the black this
quarter requires that they put off the expenditure for SyQuest's assets,
the next quarter is only 17 days away. Even though they could identify
any asset cost as a one time charge, the street hasn't been too kind and
the risk that the charge would be over reacted to is IMO too great.
They should be reporting a great quarter, reestablishing their control of
their bottom line with hopefully a well thought out plan for acquired
SyQuest's assets, ( assuming that they're engaged in the acquisition of assets ).
Further my hope is that they don't reveal a deal with SyQuest until the
4Q 98 numbers are announced, perhaps during the conference call.
FWIW I received my USB Zip drives the other day.
