Other news on the "TV quality video" front: @Home has recently placed limits on receiving "TV quality video", imposing a 10-minute time limit.

While @Home initially promoted video heavily, they are now backing-off due to bandwidth concerns.

BTW, though, nothing that you or I have yet seen is considered "TV quality video". @Home defines that as full-screen, 30fps. The best stuff that's out there right now is postage stamps at 15fps.

Certainly, though, if you ARE going to deliver TV-quality video, it will certainly have to be done by storing the video close to the user, and, even then, (in the case of cable, but not necessarily ADSL users) only multi-cast technology is appropriate. (e.g. no video-on-demand).

Ah, the hype and the reality...
