there is discussion of conducting "4th market" stock transactions through a site like ONSL's, i.e., (1) mutuals conducting transactions with each other, (2) individuals conducting transactions with mutuals - you own 10,000 shares of an appreciated stock and need to exchange that appreciated stock for shares of the mutual fund in order to avoid taxation and decrease risk, and so on. ONSL would provide the software for the transactions. such transactions are not currently regulated by the NASD and are outside it's trading domain as they are deemed "person to person". I do not know how extensive ONSL has pursued this line, but others are pursing it and are considering ONSL as one of their potential sites.

ONSL has established a presence and has a respectable name. in their case, being "first" means, at least, getting a shot at the big deals.

the Nasdaq is a large stock "auction" house

I believe EBAY was give a target of $150 by Goldman Sachs , so I doubt it will drift further down in the near term as long as the mkt remains strong. Its bleeding is surely not helping ONSL today.
