The free level II is nothing. Level 2 is just a small portion. The fact that you put your bid in, and it shows up on the screen is the big deal. Lets say HTZG is the best BID on Netscap at $40.00 And Hill is the best ASK at $40.75 Here you come in and put in a bid to buy at $40.25 Someone sells to you. Then you immediately turn around and sell at $40.50 Sound meaningless? try it with 1000 shares. do that 4 or 5 times a day. Etrade can't do that for you.
