I have run a complete scan of every file for viruses, that's ruled out.

Actually I was referring to scanning the drive for bad sectors.

I have my money on the video drivers..or the sound card drivers. Did both machines have the same sound card?

FWIW, the Iomega software always made me nervous (well, more nervous anyway). I've always tweaked until some semblance of stability was obtained - and I don't recall any semblance including all that noisy zip stuff. Keeping that stuff off has worked for me but, as I'm sure you are well aware, it is so very hard to pin down the quirky-never-twice-the-same problems.
