Can someone help me.

I put in a buy order for 42 on CPQ. It took three hours after I entered the order for CPQ to come down to that price. For about twenty minutes the stock traded at 42 and even once traded at 41 15/16. I never was filled.

I called my broker and was told that all of the prices that I was seeing at 42 were sells. (The price of the stock did not go below 42 for the next hour). When I continued to question him about "who is buying at that price" he eventually said the MM. Somehow that seemed to me a strange response.

My question is: Should I have been filled at 42?

I hope this is enough information as I am really confused as to why I did not get a fill on my order.

Thanks in advance,
AnnieO
