You are correct Robert!

You keep your seed through out the playoffs. Records don't matter after seeding.

That's a slightly different situation. In 1979, there were only 2 Wild Card teams, and the playoff format was different. But, it is a clue, since maybe the principle of ranking the divisional winner higher was kept intact. BTW, I love people who know their team well enough to remember this kind of stuff after almost 20 years.

Robert .. I agree that all the division winners get the first home game, but after that, don't all the teams get seeded according to record? In your example, had TBay already played a game before they met the Eagles? If that's the case, then you're definitely right.
