All Refurb monitor update & the payoff for patience Since the refurbed Viewsonic 815s are still no where to be found I cast a wider net and came up with a new Cornerstone 50/101sf 21'' with a badly cracked bezel. Its last years flagship model reviewed extremely well for text and spreadsheet work. The folks at High Point America are replacing the bezel and testing the monitor functions. Since this monitor was never sold (damage occurred during factory to vendor shipping) I'll be the proud owner of a new 3 yr warranty from Cornerstone. We're dickering on the price around $800 on a monitor that last year was twice that amount when it was new. I almost bought it for even less as is until one nice salesperson went and looked at the actual damage which apparently is at multiple points on the bezel with small piece of plastic actually chipped off. Any concerns about internal damage should become apparent during their testing then they have a 15 day RMA policy so I should be alright.... right?...... gulp...<gg> Clarence

where should I install the PowerQuest suite? It should not make much difference as the programs are designed to boot from floppies. In my case I avoid booting from floppies. It goes back to my my experiences with IBM microchannel systems ( I still have several kicking around:(. I was always amazed the machine would not work until someone found THE FLOPPY DISC...I know it is here some where <g> I have multiple installations of Partition Magic and Drive Image (on the same computer). I make sure I have at least one installation on each of two bootable drives. With a backup PQ installation I will be able to recover (without looking through my pile of floppies<g>) in the event of a harddrive failure or the more likely OS failure. I have not tried the Move Magic and the Boot Manager. The bios boot option has worked well for me..so far. I am suspicious that the move manager will get me caught in a tangle. I think of my setup as several independent computers in one box. I therefor avoid options that try to integrate the harddrives for me. I use the bios boot selection for a similar reason. I do not want the boot selection dependent on a harddrive. Zeuspaul
