Budget to Begin Renting Electric Vehicles at LAX, Paper Says

Los Angeles, Dec. 9 (Bloomberg) -- Budget Group Inc., the owner of No. 3 car-rental company Budget Rent a Car, will start renting electric-powered vehicles at Los Angeles International Airport on Monday, USA Today reported. Budget initially will rent 15 electric-powered vehicles, which help reduce pollution by cutting exhaust emissions, and will have 60 vehicles at LAX by spring. Budget will rent several brands of electric vehicles at the airport, with an introductory rate of $39.95 per day, the newspaper said.

U.S. automakers are under pressure by regulators to produce more efficient and cleaner-running vehicles to cut emissions, and California has the strictest emission laws in the U.S., requiring 10 percent of automakers' fleets to emit zero emissions by 2003.

Michael Latas-- Kapton goes for $77/pound. I have no idea how many square meters a pound can produce, but I reckon its a lot a 1 to 2 mil.
