I wish I would have thought of this around the 1150 level, but I did not. Right now a 1220 Emini call option is priced at 3.75. That means at the 1150 level I should have been able to get the 1185 to 1195 call for well under 4.00. That would have been a good purchase knowing I was planning on looking for a positional short soon. That way the upside would have been protected at a small cost. I guess, if I do that this time, I will have to do it backwards....short the mini and then once we are down a bunch, buy an out of the money option near my shorting price to protect in case of a runaway.

Ah heck, I am probably to cheap to throw away the money on an option anyway. Still, too bad I did not think of that 30 to 40 points ago.
