Since CDNOW spends all its money on expensive advertisements be they on MTV, or on banners...

How on earth can they afford to trim their profits margins further with their 30% Christmas sale?

Especially since they haven't developed an effective strategy to retain their customers (ie repeat customers) other then to raise their brand identity through their expensive yet ineffective marketing to date.

David, how do you get a count of the online orders? If you have an accurate count, perhaps you can update us every week or so. My guess is that if we have 1450 intenet sales, there are at least as many phone sales and probably a lot more, especially once the distributorship is incorporated. I could not begin to guess at the average sales per order, but I am sure that some who post here have a pretty good idea.

I for one would greatly appreciate a regular update of the numbers since I suspect they will be growing by leaps and bounds. Thanks for the information!
