Also someone mentioned earlier antifreeze - RV supply stores carry an antifreeze made for drains and toilets won't hurt plumbing.

Automobile antifreeze is different!

Typically in my area when folks refer to "blowing the pipes" They are talking about landscapers and the irrigation "pipes"used to water lawns and irrigate gardens.Those pipes do indeed need to be blown to get all water out of the low spots.
