Your missing the point - deliberately, I should add. There is a clear difference between public statements and perjury. Lying under oath carries with it a penalty as meted out by the judiciary. That is why we have oaths - testimony in the legal system is crucial to the execution of justice, and therefore, any failure of truth demeans the process and diminishes justice.

Henny Hide's affair 30 years ago none of our business. Neither are the hundreds of sexual encounters that Bill didn't cover up by misusing the power of his office.

The ones that he did attempt to cover up by misusing his power certainly are our business.
