Why are they there?

Well in short;

The Rawandans are in the DRC to kill Hutus! not a nice reason but one that on the ground makes sense as far as sense has anything to do with it. Further there is the belive in Rawanda that their security can only be assured if the DRC is infiltrated as Kabila is a dictator with blood on his mind and hands.

The Ugandans are there for profit or so say the Rawandans as they assert that Ugandan officers are making business deals as they go. Other than that the Ugandan roll is one of dark and mirky depths...at least it keeps the soldiers off the streets - in Uganda. This coupled with the fact that Uganda fears the instability of a DRC in flux.

As does Rawanda for the opposite reasons it supported Kabila the first time around..

Confused? Your not alone!

Zimbabwe, Angola and Namibia well they were only doing the right thing one would suppose. Yet right now they might wish they had not. Even so as things now are the right thing look's pretty good.

The RCD or Rally For Democracy ie the rebels mostly viewd as Tutsi rebels well who knows...

Enter Mr Bemba who has roots in the Mobutu era and some success at fighting with Ugandan help winning a victory. Mr Bemba is winning ground and could in all this come out smelling like a rose..or maybe not

Now I am confused...
