Sounds like LTR gives you the best of all worlds: Buffett type stock respected by WEB; oil component; some puts on the S&P, I think, for a little spice; possible spin-off of tobacco unit.....sounds like it might be a Candide stock, with Larry Tisch starring as Dr. Pangloss.

I like RIG and DO, as you already know. But when you get into the circle outside of RIG DO HAL and SLB, it's really hard to make an educated pick(s) as to who to go with, if you didn't want to go with more than one company. There are good things, and some REALLY bad things about most of the 'cheap' OS companies. 6 months ago VRC and PGO were BUYS according to Duetsche bank, along with 2 others, and all the rest including SLB and HAL were HOLD. ESV looks good to me, but so do about 10 others. PKD is the only american driller in Khazahkstan (?) Russia, but russia's economy is on the verge of collapse, and PKD is at a 52-week Low, is this a buy-in point or an 'ooops' ?? I don't know the Oil Industry, all i know is i have been buying into them, and trading BDI and UTI and have done VERY well the past 3 months....
No, maybe ONLY 4 of these companies MIGHT even be worthing discussing on this thread, and those are the same old fab 4 - SLB HAL DO and RIG.
Those are solid.
