For some reason your scan for the 18 weeks does not show CREE (Cree Research), which probably did very well in that time frame also. I don't know much about CREE, in fact I know nothing about it.

One fact in the conference call that really caught my attention was that SMTC was working on Gallium Arsenide and other new processes. We all know (I think we do) that VTSS is big into GaAs, so I wonder what the long-term implications of this might be. In fact, I wonder what the new design engineers are doing to grow this potentially lucrative market. I bet they aint sleeping :o)

I'm not going to punish ya for the math, I was looking at a 5-year graph on Excite, and I was off by a mere 400% in some cases.

OFF-TOPIC

Did I mention that POWI has been in my bag since $9 5/8? I bought it under the recommendation of the really cool analyst I was telling you about. POWI has a lot going for it, if they don't get bought out, it literally may be a ten-bagger for the kid. Let's give credit where credit is due (even though I know exactly what he'll say :o), I was made aware of POWI by Todd Wiener.

I am real happy for him because he has formed/joined a company where he is serving as the managing director. I'm gonna plug it, and there is NOTHING anyone can do about it either. The name of the company is TechTrends, Inc., and they are at techtrends.net

He has always been a supporter of SMTC, and we have shared a whole lot of discussion about the company over the past year. He also feels power management and power applications will become crucial factors in future systems. I agree 100%, in fact not much will be workable without the enabling technology of companies like SMTC & POWI. You can't eat an LDO like you can a loaf of bread, but you can'te very well get the loaf of bread to the market to be eaten without that LDO. Catch 22 ... maybe we'll just be content catching a 10 bagger eh?

I like this Telescan you mentioned, I am looking at their website now.

Regards, JB

P.S. DO you have VTSS, I have never owned it, and it sure has done well?
