Listened to the Q3 earnings conference call. One of the points they made about JMAR semi was that while the government contracts may not have as great a margin as commercial business, they do go provide a great way of supporting the administrative expenses of running the business, and therefore will make any commercial business even more profitable.

Sounded like they expect at least $3-5 million from BrightLight next year. The sales should have a 3-6 month lead time. 2000 should be the breakout year for Brightlight if it is accepted by the market. They are very excited about all the non-lithography applications that are possible with their lasers and described it as being "like a kid in a candy store". I think the hiring of Turcu (PlasmaBoy for our dear friends over on yahoo) contributes greatly to their ability to capitalize on their technology in ways we have not heard about yet.

They were supposed to have a planning meeting in late Nov. I think. I assume it happened just before the news of the new COO.

Martinez was asked about revenues for '99 and agreed that $30 - $40 million was reasonable but that 30 was definitely on the low side.

Oh for heavens sake.. go order the tape yourself:
