Eric,

>>"It's funny as a graphic design student, I am finding that I can do the same things, run the same programs, etc. on a PC. (I'm in DELL now)"

What's really hilarious is that I have owned a G3 for 11 months now and have not done a Reformat/Reinstall/Reboot on it nor have I lost data due to poor disk management at the OS-level. Between laughs the most frequent sounds coming out of a Wintel-user is "why is it doing that -- can you fix it?"

Cheers,

Norm

No....I use a generic PC... I don't believe in brand names, especially when I like to upgrade and add new toys to it. I only have DELL stock, I have never TOUCHED a DELL computer!
I am getting a technical degree in Graphic Arts Technology here in Wisconsin...it's not a big name school. We do use MACs there and I expect to get a G3 system for myself once I'm done, it's just that I have all the programs on my PC...(Adobe everything! and Quark Xpress too)
What I don't like seeing in school is students thinking that an IMac is an appropriate graphic design computer...I tell them to skip it and get a G3 desktop instead!
One thing...it's a heck of a lot easier for someone that knows a PC to get on a MAC than vice versa!!

Thinking Differently(on a PC...),

I must admit that one of the reasons I decided to sell my AAPL stock was when I actually saw the IMac in person. I applaud them for the design, but it looked and felt cheap upon use. I would expect it to be a $699.00 PC..and really, it would be a fair price for it....NOT $1299.00!!!!
