aC, your understanding of parity memory is correct. The difference is that with the BX chipset (and perhaps others as well--I can't recall at the moment), the ECC circuitry is built right in, needing only an extra standard parity bit to function. Pretty snazzy, huh?

I don't recall the technical details (and never researched them very fully)--perhaps Sean or someone else can help here.
