Haim, >>>>> but to point to the fact that TA does not over rules fundamentals. In many cases TA help to notice deteoration of fundamentals or improvement of fundamentals etc., but reliance only on TA is wrong. <<<<<<<< Frankly, I agree with your position and that I am almost purely a technician. TA can notice slight changes, but when it comes to overwhelming news/strong fundamental changes, TA cannot predict it. Haim, on just a topic of mathematical probability to show the usefulness of TA - the shorter the period of time the lesser amount of variables; therefore the more accurate TA becomes. I am not saying that everyday movement can be predicted, just that when a certain extreme environment is achieved as in SELL or BUY signals the more accurate TA becomes. I believe that its that gambling nature of us humans to attempt to use TA everyday, which is actually exceeding its limits, and in this case we may be abusing TA. TA, most definitely has its limits purely based on mathematical probability, and I have always said that strong news/fundamental changes OVER-RIDE technicals. Frankly, I am very hesitant towards long-term TA since variables in the market increase exponentially with time, and with more variable the less accurate TA becomes. What I normally do is wait for extreme situations which is my CLASS SELLs and BUYs. If you have read my updates, I have also aways stated that my CLASS signals are only good for the initial movement. Once the initial move is made (normally 1-3 points for a $50.00 stock), I then have to revert to my MID-TERM analysis which is different from my short-term analysis and less accurate. My MID-TERM analysis uses different technicals indicators/parameters. >>>>> ., but reliance only on TA is wrong. <<<<<<<<< In response to that comment, for a day trader, total reliance on TA is the way to go since the time is so short. Fundamentals on a day trade have little or no importance. I've daytraded stocks, in the past, not even knowing what they do, what their P/E is, or even the full name of the stock. (IE: SNDK - I thought it was a retailer gggg). I dont do that anymore nor do I recommend it, but when I did it worked. With a daytrader who may only hold a position for 15-60 minutes, the time is so short that variables produced by news is very limited. It depends on the the amount of time, the longer the less accurate TA is. Seeya
