Slider,

This is the second Christmas in a row where this sector has
put in a pathetic yearly performance. When I really reflected
on how much I lost in this sector, I decided that a third
miserable Christmas(1999) was not for me.

John

Slider,"but arm-twisting and political pressure at the highest level is. We must act now."

What do you think they can do? Oil producing countries are now under huge pressure to pump more oil not less. They're high leveraged countries that need the money for basic government operation and to pay off American Banks. What do you suggest?

Stop paying the loans? Get more loans from the IMF?

American producers just can't compete, and if you're going to start talking about saving industries there is a long list of them that have been destroied by Global competition.. Why stop at oil... beyond your own interests.
