I am sure that I can't convince you its not a joke. But think of one thing. This man appoints Supreme Court members, Federal judges, and Federal prosecutors. If he thinks that it is OK to lie under oath in a legal case, then our system is under a risk of becoming rotten at the core.

That's fine with me, Timothy. One opinion is about as good as another, I suppose. If Clinton's support is so soft that his supporters are unwilling to stand up and be heard, then he deserves to get flushed.

The one thing that is apparent is that there is "clear and convincing evidence" that he may be guilty of at least one felony, and that the only way to determine his guilt or innocence is to conduct a trial in the Senate. Since convicted felons are ineligible to hold public office (or vote, or own firearms) removal from office will be the only option under the constitution.

I sure won't miss him.

Tim,>>>People who are against don't really care.<<<

You are right, except there are a lot of those who don't care also don't really understand the issues.

The founding fathers of this country were highly educated people - they did not spell out what they meant by high crimes and misdeameanor for a reason. It was not an oversight. They could easily have narrowly spelled out treason or criminal activity as reasons for impeachment. But they didn't. What is an impeachable offense is what congress defines as impeachable. That is a part of the checks and balances.

What is important in a democracy is that the ordinary citizen does not have to be a constitutional expert to determine the issues at hand. That is in part why we elect representatives to help us in these matters. Having said this - what does this have to do with the current problem with our sitting President?

All we have to do is decide for ourselves - after being presented with the charges, whether we think this person deserves to continue in the office of the President or not. The impreachment process is there in order to remove a President even if the President had been elected by a clear majority of the people.

For us, as good citizens of this country, we must examine the charges and decide whether we want our elected officials to impeach the President or not.

For me, the President clearly deserves to be impeached. Not only did he lie to his wife, family, his cabinet, friends, Congress, but he also wagged his index finger into my face on TV and told me a bold face lie. I could not tolerate this from anyone in my own immediate family. I would not want such a liar to be a school teacher, uniformed policeman or military soldier, or high level manager in any of the companies I invest in.

But, the most egregious act, as far as I am concerned is the charge that while discussing the possiblity of sending our children to war with a congreeman over the telephone, the President was engaged in oral sex with a paid underling in the Oval Office. Would I allow a person of this caliber to send any child of mine to war?

If this President is not guilty of this charge, then the President has a duty to insure that those who leveled such scurrilous and false charges be brought to justice. We must never allow anyone to make scurrilous lies of this nature and get away without severe punishment.

If he is guilty than he must resign willingly or face impeachment proceedings.

To let a President of the United States to get away with this kind of behavior is a high crime.
