Steve,
I did much research in the Tribune archives a few years back and found many interesting articles related to the subject of Jews and Communism. Here's one you may find interesting. The Tribune article connects the Jews in the Communist Party in Russia to a wider Jewish movement: "To its leaders Communism is only an incident."

"This second movement aims for the establishment of a new racial domination of the world...the moving spirits in the second scheme are Jewish radicals. Within the ranks of Communism is a group of this
party, but it does not stop there. To its leaders Communism is only an incident. They are ready to use the Islamic revolt, hatred by the Central Empire of England, Japan's designs on India and commercial
rivalries between America and Japan. As any movement of world revolution must be, this is primarily anti-AngloSaxon...The organization of the world Jewish radical movement has been perfected in almost every land." (The Chicago Tribune, June 19, 1920)

Hilaire Belloc was pretty blunt about his views about Jews and
Communism in Russia.

"As for anyone who does not know that the present revolutionary Bolshevist movement is Jewish in Russia, I can only say that he must be a man who is taken in by the suppressions of our deplorable
Press." (G.K.'s Weekly, February 4, 1937, Hilaire Belloc)
