Thread,

JMHO... but I think what we are seeing is a temporary move out of IOM in anticipation of an announcement that they will be taking an additional charge against 4Q earnings to purchase the patents and key technology from the defunct SyQuest assets. This would be another charge against 4Q earnings, as I recall, they are also taking a charge to cover the additional monies (~$20M) needed to complete the Nomai take-over. This was announced in the 3Q reporting but I'm sure it will be play up by some as a big surprise. These kind of charges are not negative things. Even the FTC fine, which also comes out of 4Q earnings, is a one timer.

Rememeber it's all JMHO,

Ben A.

RLL -

Do other companies make pre-formatted CD-RW media? Not that I know of. I'm not sure why.

One possible reason, however, might be the fact that CD-RW media need to be formatted in different ways depending upon what they are going to be used for.

It's still an interesting idea for adding value to the blank media.
