The points I have been trying to make is that without humility and love for them how will they come to belief. Part of the responsibility of the Gentiles is to provoke them to jealousy and I do not see that in most of what I read from Emile and some others. Romans 11 says their ACCEPTANCE will bring life from the dead. Yes I agree here, except it seems in our society now that jealousy almost makes people bitter now, rather than want to achieve that goal. But then I get confused by what you say. Here it is: Romans 11 says their ACCEPTANCE will bring life from the dead. ...then in the next sentence you say: . The acceptance of Jesus has to occur as it surely will. Acceptance is always a volunteering type of exercise is it not? Then you say they HAVE to accept.And it SURELY will. That sounds like a forced deal. Yet in many other places we are shown "choice" of course then I read on and it says this: 26 And so all Israel will be saved, as it is written: "The deliverer will come from Zion; he will turn godlessness away from Jacob. 27 And this is my covenant with them when I take away their sins." 28 As far as the gospel is concerned, they are enemies on your account; but as far as election is concerned, they are loved on account of the patriarchs, 29 for God's gifts and his call are irrevocable. 30 Just as you who were at one time disobedient to God have now received mercy as a result of their disobedience, 31 so they too have now become disobedient in order that they too may now receive mercy as a result of God's mercy to you. 32 For God has bound all men over to disobedience so that he may have mercy on them all. I WILL RIGHT HERE TELL YOU THAT ONE TIME I READ THE ABOVE IT SAYS ONE THING TO ME AND THE NEXT IT SAYS ANOTHER THING TO ME. I would have no problem with it but for that last verse. It changes from "the elect, to ALL without missing a beat, so who is ALL ? Are not the elect part of the ALL? and am I as an adopted son part of the ALL also? I do very definitely believe in the promise given that ALL whom come to the Lord in faith and belief will be saved. What do you think it means to be highminded to the root? I do not think it is good that any be highminded to any.(although I have done so) It has always been my thinking that the root is Christ.We all see how Christ thought and dealt with those who were highminded with Him.( ie teachers of the law, Pharisees, leaders of Israel) I hope you do not feel exasperated as we go through this. It may look as if I am "highminded" but I asure you I am not. It would be wonderful to see Satan robbed of any souls for his eternity. dan
