LU just split off of a monster company two years ago. Why would they want to go and join another one now? IMO, this is quite unrealistic. If LU wants to stay competitive, they will have to be the buyer, not the buyee....

LU and IBM to merge ? An article in Network Computing magazine
indicates that a merger between the two giants was considered several months ago and could become reality as companies around the world consider "bigger is better". A stock swap is very likely according to the magazine.


My God, I hope LU has better sense than this. Every company IBM has "merged" with has either already been a disaster or been ruined by IBM - ROLM, Lotus, the list is endless. I'll vote NO and sell if that ever happens
