Dr. S: Washington madness, I fear, is not going to inject a lot of feel good news. The prospect of a full-blown impeachment debate in the House and subsequent trial in the Senate is chilling, to say the least. There will, no doubt, be opportunity as a result, but it will have the taint of blood money, and no matter what happens, the political process will be badly damaged. With the market at these levels, and with warnings hard upon us, one should move very cautiously. All does not bode well. I remember the impact of Watergate on the markets. Talk about riptides. Sigh.
