John I have nothing against Jimmy Carter... if you read my post you will see that I cited a "Jimmy Carter phenomenon" with respect to Clinton. There is no comparison between Carter and Clinton and even if there were some esoteric connection between the two, I couldnt make it because I was too young to remember Carter and the economic fallout of the late 70s.

My point was, Carter was largely thought of as an inept president until the late 80s or so and now hes highly regarded. People tend to forgive. And Clinton is so young relative to the other presidents he will be forgiven this scandal - by many immediately too.
