Pat,

I think that's the key (hard nosed attitude that is). Traders that have survived the market tend to develop a strong self-centric approach to survive. This can often lead to heated discussion. The nearly equal divergent opinion on market motion suggests that we are at an uneasy equilibrium.

The divergence of opinion seems to derive from different forms of technical indicators and time frames of evaluation. With neural nets trading all over the place and everyone charting; the technical screens may become less and les effective IMO.

That said, there appears to be weakness creeping into this market that went almost straight up. The weakness may no manifest itself in a big price move but a time move with little upside progress, since we haven't had the strong reversal signs yet.
