I haven't seen Sun or Oracle themselves say there was going to be a computer without an OS. I've just seen some proto-PR that paraphrases the message. Some paraphrases have said these things, whatever they are, won't need an OS. Some have said they won't need Windows, which I think is the real point. If Sun and Oracle say their computer doesn't have an OS, then in fact they will be lying and that will be too bad. (In truth it doesn't bother me much, when weighed against years of Microsoft's deliberate FUD marketing as fully documented in their own internal correspondence during the DOJ proceeding.)

In any case we'll find out on Monday, and if S&O do indeed say "No OS", which I personally doubt, they'll be called on it from every direction and it won't last long. Beside the point anyway.

Have a nice weekend.

Regards,
